Guest Chaplain

Rev. Blanche delivered the invocation for the Minnesota House of Representitives January 8, 2007 durning their opening session. Ilene was invited by the House Speaker, Steve Sviggum. They met for the first time at the Wabasha County Fair the summer of 2006 when the Holy Spirit moved Ilene to pray for this man who was looking for a vote. After the prayer Steve was introduced as the Speaker of the House and invited Ilene to be a Guest Chaplin.

This was the prayer that Rev. Blanche prayed at the Minnesota House of Representatives. We ask that you all pray in agreement with this prayer and stand with us in faith.



Prayer for the House of Representatives


We bow our heads to honor you acknowledging that you are God of Heaven and earth. Thank you for our nation and for our state and the privilege that even in our government we can freely publicly pray seeking your help.

Lord, I lift up this governing body of people to ask your blessing on them today. I know that you have hand selected each one of them and as I am honoring them I am also honoring you.

I ask that you provide them with guidance from your heart, that you would give them your thoughts and your ways. I pray that you will mold their thinking to conform to your wisdom. Help them to let go of their own agendas and surrender to your perfect plan for the State of Minnesota.

I ask you for a unity and harmony among these men and women. Help them to listen to each other, to be slow to speak and quick to hear. I ask for a oneness among them and that they would remember the people of Minnesota, to serve them and to do right by everyone.

God, we are in need of you. Give them miracles this year. Give them divine appointments and show off for them. Reveal yourself in ways that are so convincing that no one could doubt this came from God. Nothing is impossible to those who believe.

I ask that your wisdom and council in your leaders right here in this House of Representatives be so great that this year Minnesota would truly be a North Star and shine brightly throughout the entire Nation. I ask that our government be so outstanding that we are an example to all who would look on. We dare to ask big things of you.

So God, honor our hearts and honor our requests as we serve you and seek to do your will. In your precious name, Amen
